Lore-Master... Empty Lore-Master...

Upcoming changes with Isengard taken from the horses mouths:

Lore-masters have a lot of breadth in the skills and abilities they have access to. Crowd control and debuffing are the Lore-master’s bread and butter, but they’re also able to deal respectable damage, provide some spot healing when needed and have a variety of pets they can use. Seeing as how many Lore-masters were quite pleased with the armor set bonuses in Ost Dunhoth, which provided significant bonuses to healing, I decided for this update to focus on the Lore-master’s ability to provide healing. The majority of these changes occur in the “Keeper of Animals” trait line, allowing Lore-masters to better fill in the role of an off-healer if they choose. I look forward to seeing how these changes are used and how we can continue to improve the Lore-master in its many varied roles.

Changes across most of the classes:

Skill Consolidation: We realize there are lots and lots of skills in the game, some of which are redundant with one another. Our goal with these changes is to reduce the number of skills in the game while improving weaker skills.
Improved Skills rather than New Skills: Along similar lines, we don’t want to flood the player with more new skills until they run out of room or don’t bother using certain skills.

The Lore-master saw quite a few skills consolidated together:

“Warding Knowledge: Creatures of Nature”, “Warding Knowledge: Dead”, and “Warding Knowledge: Drakes” are now upgraded versions of the same skill.
At level 26 you can train “Warding Lore” which affects The Dead and Unseen monsters.
If you have the 4-set bonus from The Ancient Master, it will additionally affect Men, Dwarves and Orc-kind.
At level 38 you can train “Improved Warding Lore” which replaces “Warding Lore” and affects The Dead, Unseen, Creatures of Nature, and Insects.
If you have the 4-set bonus from The Ancient Master, it will additionally affect Men, Dwarves, Orc-kind, Beasts, and Trolls.
At level 40 you can train “Advanced Warding Lore” which replaces “Improved Warding Lore” and affects The Dead, Unseen, Creatures of Nature, Insects, and Drakes.
If you have the 4-set bonus from The Ancient Master, it will additionally affect Men, Dwarves, Orc-kind, Beasts, Trolls, Giants, and Ancient Evils.
“Leechcraft”, “Tend the Sick”, and “Ancient Knowledge of Cures” have been consolidated.
At level 10 you can now train “Knowledge of Cures” – a skill that can be used in combat, cures up to 3 Disease effects and 3 Wound effects, and has a 10 second cooldown.
The trait “Proof Against All Ills” allows this skill to work on all fellowship members within an area-of-effect.
If you have the 3-set bonus from The Keeper of Animals, the cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds.
At level 62 you can train “Improved Knowledge of Cures” which replaces “Knowledge of Cures” and eliminates the induction time from the skill.
“Sign of Battle: Wizardry” and “Sign of Battle: Wizard’s Fire” have been consolidated.
At level 2 you can train “Sign of Battle: Wizard’s Fire”.
Responding to the Flanked! effect will not be resisted.
At level 54 you can train “Improved Sign of Battle: Wizard’s Fire” which completely eliminates the 10 second cooldown of the skill.

We also made a bunch of quality of life changes:

"Back from the Brink":
Increased range from 5m to 25m.
No longer requires a material component.
No longer places a debuff on the revived player.
Now revives the target with 30% Morale.
“Ancient Wisdom” is now a Passive Skill.
NOTE: You’ll have to visit a Lore-master trainer to re-learn this skill. Sorry!
“Blinding Flash” can be used on any creature type (ie; any genus).
“Wisdom of the Council”:
Cooldown reduced from 10 minutes to 5 minutes.
Removed Power Cost.
“Call to the Valar” had its cooldown reduced from 10 minutes to 5 minutes.

The trait lines saw a fair amount of action:

Master of Nature’s Fury:
“Knowing of the Past” now receives the benefit from “Tactically Adept”: -3% Tactical Skill Power Cost.
“Tactically Adept” has been repurposed to provide -50% Induction Time for the skill “Sticky Gourd”.
“Improved Sign of Battle” has been improved to provide +25% Damage.
“Improved Storm-lore” now increases all Lightning Damage (not just Storm-lore damage).
The Ancient Master:
“Secret of Tar”:
No longer modifies “Sticky Gourd” (that functionality has been moved to “Tactically Adept”, see above).
Reduces the Induction Time of “Sticky Tar” by 1 second.
Reduces the cooldown of “Sticky Tar” from 1 minute 30 seconds to just 1 minute.
The traits “Fast Loader” and “Explosive Force” have been combined.
NEW trait “The Study of Frost-lore” modifies Frost-lore in two ways:
An additional -5% Tactical Damage.
+50% Induction Time on the debuff.
The Keeper of Animals:
Additional 3-set bonus: -5 seconds from the cooldown of “Knowledge of Cures”.
Additional 4-set bonus: -1 minute from the cooldown of “Inner Flame”.
The traits “Master of Beasts” and “The Wild and Ward” have been combined.
The traits “Hardy Companion” and “Beast-lore” have been combined.
NEW trait “Improved Inner Flame” allows the skill to affect all nearby fellowship members.
NEW trait “Improved Flanking” allows the target of your “Air-lore” skill to also receive the benefits of your Flanked! heals.

**Spoiler Alert** Improved Skills from Level 66 to Level 74:

Level 66: Improved Sign of Power: Command – Now affects up to 5 targets.
Level 68: Improved Staff-sweep – For each enemy hit, you will receive a buff to the Critical Chance of your next Fire Skill.
Level 70: Commune with Nature – This is a new pet which focuses on healing.
Level 72: Improved Sign of the Wild: Rage – Increases your companion’s damage by 10%.
Level 74: Improved Burning Embers – The damage-over-time effects can now stack up to three times.

Please remember that testing (both internal and external) continues and that any of the above bullet points are subject to change.
